Job Title: Physician Assistant – Thoracic/Cardiac Surgery (Locum Tenens)
Type: Locum – Ongoing
Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts | No Call
Credentialing Timeframe: ASAP

Position Overview:

Client is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant (PA) for ongoing coverage in its Thoracic Surgery or Cardiac OR department. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the operating room and clinic settings, working autonomously with a focus on robotic and minimally invasive procedures. This role is critical for continued surgical support and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• First-assist in thoracic surgical procedures, including robotic lung resections and foregut surgeries
• Pre-operative patient evaluations and clinic responsibilities
• Operate within a Level II Trauma Center environment
• Collaborate with the surgical team, including potential cross-coverage in the Cardiac OR
• Support robotic surgery procedures (docking, bedside assisting)

Requirements:

• Board Certification through NCCPA
• Active Michigan PA License
• Minimum 2+ years of Thoracic OR or Cardiac First Assist experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Robotic surgery experience – Highly Preferred
• Clean malpractice and background history

Additional Details:

• EMR: Epic
• Coverage needed in both the OR and clinic
• No call responsibilities

• Daily rate compensation
